Frequently asked questions
How does the reach map work?
You tell the app how much time you have. It maps every trail you can reach — and return from — in that time, using real elevation and a hiking-speed model, then pulls out discrete routes you can hike.
Why don’t I see trails where I am?
Coverage is expanding. If trails don’t appear, use the “nearest trails” prompt or search for a nearby trail area. Trail data comes from OpenStreetMap, so genuinely unmapped trails won’t show.
Does tracking work with my phone locked?
Yes. Once you grant location access, recording continues in the background with the screen locked, and live stats appear on your Lock Screen. If tracking pauses when locked, make sure location access is enabled for the app in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
What’s included in Summit?
All-day time budgets, unlimited saved routes, offline routes, daylight-aware planning, GPX export, multi-band isochrones, My Pace (your measured pace), and scenic ranking. The core reach map and hike recording are free.
How do I manage or cancel Summit?
Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account: open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open the app’s paywall or Settings and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID.
